Asbestos Surveys
An Asbestos Survey will clarify whether there is asbestos in your building and if so, what needs to be done
If you own any kind of non-domestic premises, or in some cases if you are the leaseholder, you have a legal duty to manage the risks from this material. Finding out exactly what risks your premises may present is the first stage of this. An asbestos survey can be undertaken for minimal cost and will ensure that premises are safe.
McIntyre Environmental offers several types of survey depending on your needs.
- Asbestos Management Survey. This is the minimum survey usually carried out within a building and covers the general daily activities likely to occur within a property.
- Refurbishment/Demolition Asbestos Survey This type of survey is required prior to any demolition, refurbishment or ‘significant’ works to a property. ‘Significant’ could mean removing walls, doors, windows etc. or installing new equipment.
- Sample Analysis for Asbestos This involves safely removing a sample of material and having it formally analysed by a laboratory.
HSG 264 This recently implemented guide to asbestos surveying places new duties on the client (dutyholder) and the surveyor. McIntyre Environmental’s surveys reflect this document.
